Recipes and Funnies
I just posted 2 new recipes. Be sure to check ‘em out below! Actually I’d advise you to at least read the intro to Recipe 25 because the punchline of this blog won’t make as much sense if you don’t know all the facts.
The funnies are first of all, Cash’s hair. I found these pictures of him before he got his hair cut but not before he became attached to the ax. By the way, did you know that ax can be spelled with or without an e? I pride myself on being a minimalist
The second funny is a question Bauer asked while we were reading one of our favorite books together yesterday. We don’t own it (yet), but we get it from the library from time to time because we both enjoy it so much. It’s called Hedgie’s Surprise and was written by Jan Brett, who also wrote The Mitten and The Hat, both of which we do own and also enjoy very much.
Hedgie’s Surprise is just a clever story with great characters, especially the Tomten. I won’t spoil it because doesn’t everyone want to know what a Tomten is, but there’s this one page near the beginning where the Tomten runs away with Henny’s egg which he stole from her nest. The picture shows the Tomten holding the egg and running away with a sneaky look on his face. When Bauer saw the picture, the question this time (because isn’t there always a question at this age?) was, “That guy, he’s not allergic to eggs?”
