Advent Activities
Bauer received a Peanuts advent calendar in the mail recently from Gigi and he is absolutely thrilled to open the new window each night at dinner. Every morning at breakfast and every midday at lunch, he points up to the calendar on the shelf beside the kitchen table, and acts like he has the best great idea, to “Let’s do the next one now!” I always say “No, let’ s wait for Dad and dinner so we can do it together.”
I thought each flap was just hiding a small picture of some sort, but instead there are Christmas activities. For Day 1, it told us to make paper snowflakes.
So we did.
So far, Cash has only ripped one off the tree.
Day 2 told us to watch a Christmas movie, so Bauer watched the Grinch.
Day 3 told us to pick one toy to donate to charity, and Bauer asked “Who’s Charity?”
Day 4 is today and it’s not dinnertime yet, so no peeking.
Yesterday morning was the Christmas brunch to end this session of Connections. I led the Mudhouse Sabbath group along with my friend Amber. We had a great group of ladies and some great discussions during our small group times this fall. Here’s a picture of us at the brunch. [Note: when I went to find the link for the book on Amazon, I noticed it is currently bargain-priced at only $3.36! Just thought you might want to know in case you were wanting to read it.]
And last for today, here are some very cute and sunny pictures of Cash in the kitchen.

How cool! I don’t think I knew it had activities – what fun! Glad you are enjoying the calendar.
